So one might ask how we met and how we began our life together... but considering our audience, most of you witnessed that affair, but we'll indulge everyone else in some details...

We met at work back in 1997 and there was no chemistry whatsoever other than a friendship that grew strong over the next two years; with subtle hints of flirtation here and there!  We're part of a group of friends that remain quite close today, which became the foundation where we began our romantic journey together.

A few friends had hinted that Steve had a crush, but nothing ever came to fruition.  Leading into Christmas of 1998, we had been spending a lot of time together and became very close.  After a party one night at "Prospect St" (the infamous party house) we all crashed wherever we could find space - putting Steve and I right next to each other all night long.  (almost all of you - get your minds out of the gutter!)  We woke the next morning cuddled up each other's arms and it felt so comfortable and amazing.

From that night on we were bugged constantly by our friends asking us 'what's going on?', but neither one of us could really own up to it.  We really didn't want anyone to know yet because we felt that maybe not everyone would be supportive.  Little did we know that everyone was excited that we FINALLY hooked up!!  It was a relief!

Did we think we were meant to be together forever at that point in time?... probably not; we just enjoyed being together.  As our first year together went on, that's when it started entering our minds that we were meant to be together and that we had fallen in love.  Yes, we had a "break" after two years of dating, but within five months we were back together and living with each other.  Clearly, we couldn't stay away!

Since then we've accomplished so much together and have enjoyed so many wonderful times together; alone and with family and friends.  We're excited to embark on this new adventure and we're looking forward to spending our days enjoying each other for the rest of our lives together.... gulp!  ha ha

Groom's Biography
Bride's Biography

We got engaged on February 14, 2006 - Valentine's Day.

Every year for Valentine's Day we would go for dinner at The Olde Spaghetti Factory (cheezy we know, but it's a tradition).  So 2006 was no different - we were going to the Spaghetti Factory...

I got up to use the restroom after dinner and when I came back, I found a card and little box wrapped up with a bow.  Now let me tell you... all night Steve kept admiring a necklace I was wearing and kept making comments about it (which I thought was odd), so when I saw that little box I automatically assumed it was a necklace or earrings and I was excited for either of those!

I opened the card (very sweet) and then opened the wrapping to find a black velvet box and all I remember is looking up at Steve just before I opened it and when I looked down into the box all I saw was a band of glitter.  I quickly snapped the box close and just looked at him.  I was completely surprised.  NO CLUE!

You have to know that I have never pressured Steve about marriage and I honestly thought we'd be one of those couples that grow old together and never marry (well, maybe one day down the road, but not this soon!).  I was stunned and just asked him, "really?"  He sat there smiling and then asked me to marry him.  I started crying as he put the ring on my finger.  We were in our own little world and I was the happiest girl in the world.  I stil can't believe this is happening!!
